Steven Jewell "Steve" Meeks

Steven Jewell "Steve" Meeks, 66 of Bowling Green passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

The Warren County native was a son of the late Herbert Meeks and Ivory Muntz Meeks who survives. He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 43 years Cathy Hagan Meeks. He is preceded in death by two nieces. Steve was a road supervisor for the State Highway Department, a member of First Baptist Church and a member of the Hays Masonic Lodge # 517. Steve took pride in the accomplishments of his family. He led by example that hard work does pay off. He met all with the broad smile and firm handshake. Steve spent his time filled with the things that he loved, family, friends, hunting and horses. He was known for his easy-going nature and his great sense of humor. 

Being the devoted husband, father and Pa he leaves to cherish his memory are five daughters, Michelle Thomas (Bradley), Melissa Spencer (James), Melanie Wilson (Patrick), Laura Thornton (Matt) and Stephanie Ferguson (Matt); one son, Brad Pruitt; 16 Grandchildren, Tristan Huff, Corey Thomas (Bailee), Maddie Thomas, Olivia Huff, Paityn Pruitt, Bentley Wilson, Briley Pruitt, Bailey Ferguson, Raegan Ferguson, Travis Thornton, Keegan Pruitt, Harper Ferguson, Eli Thornton, Emilee Dyer, Hayley Spencer and Dawson Spencer; six great grandchildren, Nolen Huff, Landon Huff, Stevie Huff, Brendan Clubb, Noah Dyer and Preslee Spencer; two brothers, Jerry Meeks and Larry Meeks; two sisters, Shirley Blankenship and Linda Thompson; several nieces and nephews.

Steve's funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday and 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesday.  There will be a Masonic Service at 7 p.m.
