Shirley Cardwell

Shirley Douglas Cardwell of Oakland, KY, passed peacefully from this earth on Monday, June 20, 2022.  Douglas was born in Morgantown, KY  to Shirley Cardwell and Bessie May Cardwell who preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Cardwell; a brother, Sherman Cardwell; and two sisters, Margie Hawks and Janice Abney.   Douglas was a roofer and a hardworking man.

His survivors include a son, Gerald Wayne Cardwell and a daughter, Shirley Marie Cardwell Geier of Delphi, Indiana. Two brothers Carlos and Charles Cardwell. Six sisters Youdene Cardwell, Gladys Faye Harden, Murlene Wells, Mary Boyd,  Mary Burns, and Kathy Sue Vonhaden.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Fairview Cemetery.  The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hardy & Son Funeral Homes.
