Ruby Elizabeth Pierce, 90 of Smiths Grove passed peacefully on Monday, January 22 at Edmonson Health Center.
The Edmonson County native was a daughter of the late Harry Paul “Bo” Wingfield and Anna Pearl Johnson Wingfield. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie “Bill” Pierce and a daughter, Cynthia Jeanne Pierce; She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Wingfield and Martha Guess; six brothers, James, Wayne, Paul, David, Daniel, Roy “Windy” Wingfield. Ruby was a member of Chalybeate United Baptist Church and a founding member of Smiths Grove Fire Department Sparkettes, She was a retired from Holley Automotive.
Leaving to cherish Ruby’s memory is her daughter, Karen Renfro (Gale) of Chalybeate; two sons, Michael Pierce (Clark) and Terry Pierce (Cherrie) of Brownsville; five grandchildren, Maegan Renick (Robbie), Emily Vincent (Cody), Austin Pierce (Lexus), Caleb Renfro and Mason Pierce; four great grandchildren, Abigail Vincent, Clay Renick, Aubrey Vincent and Preston Pierce; three sisters, Linda Webb (Hoyt Jr.), Betty Jo Herald and Mona Basham; several nieces and nephews; her special caregiver, Teresa Frank. The family would like to send a special thank you to Lori Wardlow, nurses and staff at Edmonson Health Care.
Funeral service for Ruby will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel with burial in Kinser Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Saturday and 9-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
