Rose Payne Martin Rutherford

Rose Payne Martin Rutherford, 74 of Alvaton passed peacefully with family and friends at her bedside.

The Barren County native was a daughter of the late Terry Richard Payne and Annie Moore Payne.  She was preceded in death by her former husband, William “Billy” Martin, Jr., her brother, Terry Franklin Payne, three sisters, Mary Ella Payne, Shirley Maynard and Phyllis Payne.  Rose was owner of Joe’s Pool Service, and a member of Living Hope Baptist Church.

Leaving to cherish her memory is her husband Joe Rutherford, two sons, William Nicholas Martin (Tina) and John Edward Martin (Katrina VanOver), two step sons, Chris Rutherford (Lisa) and Barry Rutherford, seven grandchildren, Josh Martin, Duncan Martin, Dakota Rigsby (Tara), Taylor Whelchel ((Wil), Kassie Mathews (Jewel), Justin Clapper (Heather) and Jennifer Capps (Jamie), four great grandchildren, one sister Frances Beckner, several nieces and nephews, many special sisters-in-Christ and her furbaby, Tucker.

Funeral service for Rose will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be 12-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m.- 1p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
