Obie Fugate, III, 59 of Bowling Green passed on August 12, 2024 at his residence.

The Warren County native was a son of the late Obie Fugate, II and Betty Beasley Fugate.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Fugate, Jackie Fugate and Herman Fugate; a sister, Meoka Fugate.  Obie was employed at Booth Cleaner.  He worked at The Medical Center for 27 years in laundry and housekeeping; Greenview Hospital for six years in utility, transporter and the kitchen, and 30 years for Warren County School System.  He was a member of the Christ Assembly Church.

His survivors include his eight brothers, Bernie Fugate (Jamie), James Lightfoot (Cindy), Carlos Fugate, Keith Fugate, Donald Lightfoot (Chiquita), Kenneth Fugate (Gina), John Warfield and Cornelius Fugate; two sisters, Alison Ray and Karen Ray; several nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts; his finance, Ronalyn Simmons and a cousin he loved like a brother, Willie Kirby.

There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery.  His arrangements were entrusted to Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.
