Mike Vernon

Mike Vernon, 60 of Smiths Grove passed peacefully on December 18, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.

The Barren County native was born to Larry Vernon and Murline Johnson McCoy who survive.  He was a cattle hauler and a member of Shiloh General Baptist Church. 

Leaving to cherish his memory is his high school sweetheart and wife of 40 years,  Sharon Vernon; three daughters, Whitley Vernon Rich (Jarred), Madison Vernon Bell ( Thomas) and Jessica Vernon Baston (Trey); six grandchildren, Oakley, Raylan, Jackie, Emory, Kenton, Franklin and arriving soon baby boy Bell; two brothers, Mitchell Vernon (Sideana) and Jeff Vernon (Jamie); two sisters, Shanna Kozak (Bryan) and Sara Goad (Jason); several nieces and nephews.

Mike’s funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Shiloh General Baptist with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel and Thursday 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the church.
