Mary Elrod Pearson

Mary Elrod Pearson, 100, of Oakland, KY, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.  Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, Oscar W. Gaines and Loma Britt Gaines.  Also preceding Mary in death:  Husbands, Wayne Hobson Elrod, Jr., and Howard Pearson; Daughter, Patricia K. Elrod; Son-in-law, Larry Ausbrooks; Daughter-in-law, Susan E. Elrod and Brother, David Gaines.  
Mary attended Oakland Baptist Church; was a member of the Red Hat Society; and worked tirelessly as the Oakland Postmaster for 39 years.  
Leaving to cherish her sweet memory is Daughter, Linda Ausbrooks; Son, Robert D. Elrod; Stepchildren, Billy Pearson (Tanya), Johnny Pearson & Gayra Pate (Jim); Grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Tedder (Steven), Jarrod Wayne Schwarzkopf (Nikki), Terri Elrod (Mac), Trina Koepke (Argie), and Tony Elrod (Tina) and several step grandchildren.  Great Grandchildren are Lilli Elrod, Maggie Elrod, Addison Koepke, Abram Koepke, Abigail Koepke, Aiden Koepke, Arianna Koepke, Cody Elrod, Bailey Elrod, Sydney Elrod, Zachary Schwarzkopf, Halle Ann Tedder, Bridon Schwarzkopf, Cayden Schwarzkopf, Avery Bennett, and several step great grandchildren.    Her Great Great Grandchildren are Lake Norris and Melody Grace Schwarzkopf.
Friends may call at Hardy & Son, Bowling Green Chapel, on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. or on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery.  The family asks that donations be made to the Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation in lieu of flowers.
