Joseph Perkins, Jr.

Joseph Ira Perkins, Jr., 90, died peacefully at Colonial Center on October 20, 2021.  He was born in Hazard, KY,  to parents, Joseph and America Trent Perkins,  who preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Hascel, Bud & Roy Perkins.

Joseph worked at Cutler Hammer - Eaton Corporation for many years before his retirement.  He was a member of Shadyland Church of Christ.  He lived a long life and observed many changes in this world that we occupy. He was married to Shirley Boggs Perkins, who survives.    He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Jon Perkins and his two children; Michael Perkins and his two children; one daughter, Mandy Perkins and her two children; several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  Also surviving are four sisters, Martina Donehoo, Rose Lee Hadley, Phyllis Pitcock, and Faye Egnor.

Based on Mr. Perkins' wishes, the family chose cremation with burial at a later date.  The family entrusted Hardy and Son Funeral Home with these arrangements.
