John Earl Jenkins

Bowling Green, Kentucky

John E. Jenkins was born October 18th, 1962, in Bowling Green, KY. He was a graduate of Warren East High School, Western Kentucky University with a degree in psychology, and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Sharon Jenkins when he was twenty-four years old, they spent over thirty-seven years building a beautiful life and family. They have three daughters, Heather Jenkins (Eric Curtis), Whitney Moore (Josh), and Ashley Settle (Ben); Eight grandchildren, Annabelle, John Ryan, Adelyn, Alexandria, Nick, Aurora, Ava, and Jackson. Plus, one spoiled little dog named LiLi. His family was the light of his life. He was a genuinely good man and will always be loved. He had a contagious smile, a laugh that could fill a room, and never met a stranger. He loved Kentucky Wildcats basketball and gardening and was always prepared. He was a lover of music and genealogy - he never stopped learning. Our beloved Husband, Dad, Papaw, and Friend left this world on April 1, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him.

The Warren County native was a son of the late John Harley Jenkins and Mary Taylor. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Tooley and three brothers, David Jenkins, Jr. Jenkins, and William Taylor. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in the family plots. Visitation will be 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
