He looked forward to talking to her every week and seeing her whenever possible.

John was like a papaw to Dakota Carson, Anakin and Jycen Casey, Elijah Ferrier and Nevaeh Thomas. He loved them dearly and they loved him. They looked up to him and always wanted his attention and approval on things. They will greatly be affected and impacted by his passing and will miss him terribly.

John enjoyed hot French vanilla coffee every morning with his breakfast. He couldn’t function without it.  He loved his dogs and they loved him especially his dog Lila Bean who will greatly miss him. Whenever he was sitting, there was always a dog or two in his lap and two sitting at his feet. He wouldn’t have it any other way. He enjoyed being outside with his dogs sitting on his favorite swing enjoying the sunshine and playing on his phone. He was very caring and emotional and didn’t care to shed tears if needed be. He would always ask you how your day went and was always there to listen to you if you needed to talk. He wore his heart on his sleeve and would do anything he could to help you. He enjoyed company and talking about the old days and when he used to ride horses and how much he loved it. He loved old western movies like Gunsmoke, the Rifleman and Bonanza, and old shows like Andy Griffith. He looked forward to every Friday night eating out with his friends. He loved an Arby's meal with a  cherry turnover, but his favorite dessert was a hot fudge cake from Phillips Drive In.

John was a faithful and dedicated attendee at Faith of God Non-Denominational Church of Helenwood, TN for the last 5 years in which he never missed a service. He was a Christian and a faithful servant of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. John believed in serving and living for the Lord and enduring to the end. He loved to hear God’s word every Sunday at church and got to hear his last sermon just hours before his passing. One of his favorite songs was “Lord It’s Just Another Hill.” He was such a humble, precious and gentle soul and will be greatly missed by his loved ones here on earth. John was a joy to have around and he made a difference in the lives of his loved ones.
