Jimmy "Hoppy" Hopkins

Oakland, Kentucky

Jimmy “Hoppy” Hopkins, 75 of Oakland died Friday, November 22 at T J Samson Community Hospital.

The Warren County native was the son of the late Floyd and Charlotte Brown Hopkins. He was a livestock trader, serving as City Commissioner of Oakland where he was a longtime resident. Hoppy loved going to auctions and trading items. He was a former stock car and demolition derby driver. 

His survivors include his former wife and special friend, Sherry Lynn Hopkins; his children, Randy “Hop” Hopkins (Whitney), Bobbi Jo Bennett (Tim), Benji Bennett, Scott Hopkins; Nine grandchildren, Tate, Jase and Grace Lynn Hopkins, Preston and Clayton Stillwell, Landon and Wesley Bennett, Jeremy and Justin Hopkins.

The visitation will be Tuesday 1-7 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. – 12 noon at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel. His funeral service will be at 12 noon on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Smiths Grove Cemetery.
