Jeanie Smith Laporte Moore

Jeanie Smith LaPorte Moore, 87 of Glasgow passed peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at T J Samson Community Hospital.

Jeanie was the daughter of the late Walter Smith and Ruby Melford Smith.  She was preceded in death by two husbands, Howard LaPorte and Henry Moore.  She was preceded in death by a son, Rickey LaPorte; eight sisters, Bessie Jewell Smith, Frances E. Smith, Mazaline Smith, Nellie Smith Dickerson, Mable Margaret Smith Wasner, Letha May Smith Talley, Lila May Smith Blanton and Eugenia Smith; three brothers, James Walter Smith, Jr., George Smith and William Smith.  Jeanie was employed at the Medical Center as an OB Technician.  She was a member of Silom Baptist Church.  

Her survivors include her two daughters, Vickie Tolle (Tony, and Monty Glass (Bobby); one son, Mickey LaPorte; seven grandchildren, Joe Glass (Rhoda), Rosa Simone (Adam), Amanda LaPorte, Kala LaPorte, Bradley LaPorte (Jamie), J. R. Elmore and Maranda Lyons (Brandon); several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation Thursday 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel followed by a graveside service at 1 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
