Jean Compton Madison, 86, of Bowling Green died Saturday, January 20, 2018. The Warren County native was born October 23, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Martha Janie Compton and was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Eurial Madison, her son Robert Madison, her sisters Lottie Curtis and Charline Moss, and her brother Thomas Compton, Sr.
A member of Eastwood Baptist Church for 60 years, she faithfully served as a children’s Sunday School teacher and was an active servant throughout her life. She was a 1955 graduate of Western Kentucky State College and a retired elementary school teacher having taught in the Warren County and Bowling Green City Schools.
Survivors include a son, Don Madison and his wife, Belinda of Houston; a daughter, Joanna Wiles and her husband, Kevin of Bowling Green; a daughter-in-law, Claudia Madison of Nashville; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael, David, Audrey, and Ana Sofia; a sister, Dorothy McGinnis of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
