Dr. Melloney Simerly

Dr. Melloney Cheylae Simerly, 55, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away on May 2, 2022, at Medical Center of Bowling Green.  Melloney was born on October 10, 1966, in Maryville, TN, to her loving parents, Wendell and Euretha Simerly.

Melloney earned her PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA in 2015.  This led her to a teaching position as an Associate Professor of Accounting at WKU University's Gordon College of Business, a job she truly loved as teaching was her lifelong passion.

Melloney is survived by her daughter, Ava Mae Simerly, 15, of Bowling Green, KY; parents, Wendell and Euretha Simerly of Farragut, TN; brother, Devin (Karen) Simerly of Lexington, Alabama; niece Amber Simerly of Florence, Alabama and Heather (Jake) Thurman of Rydal, GA and her great niece, Emilia Simerly of Florence, Alabama.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at East Maryville Baptist Church; 1150 Brown School Road, Maryville, TN  37804.

Donations to the Epilepsy Foundation of America or the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society will be accepted in Melloney's honor.
