Dewey Parker Miller, Jr., 95, died December 28, 2023, at American House Senior Living in Hendersonville, TN.
The Louisville native was born April 9, 1928. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed the love of two daughters, a wife of 58 years, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He received his GED while in the U.S. Army. He was a certified pipefitter for 72 years. He worked into his eighties as a mobile home community developer, owner, and operator. Parker and his wife Fay owned and operated mobile home communities in Jefferson, Hardin, Butler, Edmonson, and Warren counties.
Parker was an avid boater he owned and operated various houseboats on the Ohio River, Gulf of Mexico, Old Hickory Lake, and Barren River Reservoir. Many family memories and traditions were made on Barren River Lake. Parker lived life to the fullest and left a smile on the faces of all who knew him.
Parker was Extra-special Dad and will be forever missed.
He was the son of the late Dewey Parker Miller, Sr. and Vesta Lewis Miller. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Fay McKenney Miller, brothers Maurice Miller and Norvin Miller, sister Dorothy Holthouser, son-in-law John Loid.
Survivors include two daughters Donna Loid of Bowling Green and Diane Estes (Jack) of Smiths Grove; five grandchildren, Landon and Heather Loid both of Bowling Green, Drew and Halle Estes, Hannah Johnson (Michael) of Smiths Grove; one great-grandchild Madelyn Fay Johnson of Smiths Grove. A sister Grace Lowe of Smiths Grove and a sister Barbara Brown of Payson, Arizona, a sister-in-law, Phyllis Miller of Bowling Green and several nieces and nephews. Also, surviving are special caregivers Annette Walton, Martin Miller, and Sheila Yancey.
A celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with visitation from 10-11 a.m.
