Charles Anthony Short

November 29, 1962 — February 3, 2025

My Dad was a quiet man! He lived by a code—for the strength of the pack is the wolf; and the strength of the wolf is the pack. My Dad was often misunderstood. He was a beautiful soul and wild—never able to be tamed. He was the epitome of freedom. All we have ever wanted is to be accepted and loved for who we are.

Charles Short was a good father to me, Cassie, and my brother, Cory Hawk. My father loved me and Cory. He took us camping and fishing. He loved his mother and father, Roger Short and Glorianna Wall Short. His brothers, Thomas Short, James Ed Short (BJ) and Richard Short (Connie) survive. His sisters are Elizabeth, Liz and Denny also survive. He is also survived by his aunts, Elvira Campbell (Dale) and Agnes Cox. His brother, Billy Short, passed away but I can still remember how I would hide his wife’s popcorn chicken in my pockets. They were such good people.

I know my father will be okay! He is now with my son, Colton and my sister, Tabitha; his brother, Billy, and my Memaw, Carolyn. My father is survived by 5 grandbabies, Callie, Layla, Lancen, Kenleigh, and Ashton. My father has me and my brother, Cory. I promise that I will lead the pack!! It hurts that my Dad cannot be here physically, but he is watching over me and Cory. I will take a stand and make him proud! Dad, I love you and Cory loves you, also. The staff of Hardy & Son is honored to assist with his care.  No services are planned at this time.
