Charles "Charlie" Wayne Newton

Charles “Charlie” Wayne Newton, 86, passed away at his residence on December 18, 2023.  Charlie was born in Bowling Green to the parents of Chester Dare Newton and Sarah Elizabeth Hearldson.  He was married 33 years to Anne Sadler Newton, who survives. 

Together, Charlie and Anne owned and operated Oakwood Farm Riding Academy for 20 years.  He developed a passion for helping others through horseback riding.   He was a member of State Street United Methodist Church and was a past president of the Jaycees.  He was Finance Administrator for Force Wallace Ford.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children:  Shelley Allen (Marc); Mike Newton (Julie); Scott Newton and Shannon Newton (Sandy).  He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at State Street United Methodist Church with a Memorial Service to immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hardy and Son Funeral Home.
