Carol David “Chick” Chandler, 87 of Bowling Green passed peacefully Thursday, October 17 at his residence.
Chick was the son of Clarence H. and Margaret Yarbrough Chandler. He was preceded in death by a son, Craig Daniel Chandler and one sister, Mary Qualls. He had a great love for music and a fan of thumb style guitar. As a musician he had his own radio show and played on WBKO TV with The Blue Star Rangers. He was owner of Blanton & Chandler Music and made many musical friends. After retirement he became a guitar repairman at the family business Kentucky Music Co. He was a member of the Baptist faith and former member of the Bowling Green Lions Club. He served in the U.S. Army.
His survivors include his wife, Loretta Chandler; two sons, David Chandler (Shelley) and Chad Chandler (Kathy); three stepchildren, Jonathan White (Sharon), Angela Schmitz (Brendon) and Laurie Turpin (Kelly); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew; several cousins.
His funeral service will be at 12 noon Monday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-7 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. – 12 noon Monday at the funeral home
