Betty J Smith

Betty J. Smith, 90 of Oakland passed peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, September 22, 2023.
The Warren County native was a daughter of the late Murrell Britt and Ernie Meeks Britt. She was the wife of the late Wallace Thomas Smith. She is preceded in death by a son, Wallace Smith, Jr. Betty was employed by Margies Variety Store in Smiths Grove.
Leaving to cherish her memory is her children, Carrie L. Smith, Peggy Boyd, Charles Smith(Teresa) and Jimmy Smith (Sharon); 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Ann Ayers and Faye Thompson; several nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Smiths Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel.
